NOTE: I’ll be adding to this post as the day goes on with any updates that I hear about related to the Wolters Kluwer CCH issues from last week.
UPDATE 5/13/2019 6:50 PM CDT – I finally received the official instructions from CCH on filing certain tax returns with the IRS after the May 15, 2019 deadline within the additional time until May 22, 2019. Those instructions are very long and specific so I have included them on a separate post instead of on this one. You can find those instructions here.
UPDATE 5/13/2019 5:10 PM CDT – I haven’t received any updates today from Wolters Kluwer CCH about the procedure to use to get extra time to file returns due on 5/15. However, they did send me this link to share. The site is a place to sign up for Critical Updates from them. http://bit.ly/2VYYoM1
11:35 AM CDT – I just saw this notice posted on the Wolters Kluwer Tax & Accounting US Facebook page with a link to their Public Statement.
10:45 AM CDT – As of now, I haven’t heard anything official from CCH about last week’s service interruptions. On Friday, May 10, 2019 at 7:49 PM CDT, I received an official communication from them. This notification from them is the last I’ve heard. The email said that the IRS was granting additional time to file some of the tax returns that are due on Wednesday, May 15, 2019. The included returns are
• Forms 990 – Tax Exempt Organizations
• Form 1120 – Corporations
• Form 1065 – Partnerships
The notice also said additional information will be provided today and will include instructions from the IRS on how to indicate that a return filed after May 15, 2019 but before May 22, 2019 was filed late due to the CCH service interruption.
I’ll post those instructions as soon as I receive them because it appears that not everyone is receiving these emails and communications from CCH.
